Malu Miranda is a Brazilian colorist and photographer with an international background in color grading, photography, and post-production. Her approach to color is rooted in a strong understanding of light, image, and visual storytelling.
She began her color grading career at O2 Filmes, founded by acclaimed director Fernando Meirelles, and later spent over ten years living and working in Barcelona, where she studied photography and color grading. She further developed her practice in Ireland under the mentorship of senior colorist Leandro Arouca.
Her training includes Baselight in Madrid, and in Geneva, Switzerland at Downtown Studio, with a workshop led by Andy Minuth of FilmLight, alongside experience with Baselight and DaVinci Resolve.
In 2026, she was invited to serve as a jury member for the FilmLight Colour Awards, bringing her perspective to a panel of professionals from the global color grading community.
Today, she works as a freelance colorist across Europe and Brazil, focusing on documentaries, short films, music videos, and commercial productions. Her photographic background informs a thoughtful approach to color, balancing technical precision with the emotion and character of each image.
